Originally from Joliet, Illinois, Antonio Tovar, better known as Tony, has lived in the DMV area since 2007. Having served in the United States Marine Corps from 2007-2011, Tony was fortunate enough to have played with the Quantico Marine Band from 2008-2011. He has played with countless groups in the area to include: Son de la Loma, Un Mundo, Elby Brass, Big Talk, La Tremenda, Timba Street, SalBomPle, Wito Rodriquez Orquesta, Raul Morel’s Orquesta, Verny Varela’s Orquesta, and is currently the trombonist for the Eighteenth Street Lounge Latin Jazz Orquesta led by Donvonte McCoy. You can find him there every Thursday night from 10pm-1am performing some great Latin Jazz and Salsa tunes, from back then and now.

The Latin Jazz Project of Washington, D.C. Proyecto Jazz, performing original arrangements and old school ones from Poncho Sanchez, Mongo Santamaria, and more!
