OLLI HIRVONEN TRIO – 8PM & 10PM

Olli Hirvonen is a finnish jazz guitarist currently based in Brooklyn, NY. His music reflects the past and the present of jazz, combining influences from the tradition to more experimental sounds and styles. With a strong emphasis on expression, Hirvonen isn’t afraid to showcase his varied influences, from jazz to avant-garde, classical, and indie rock.

Hirvonen has been performing his own music around the world since 2008, including the Nordic Cool 2013 Festival at the Kennedy Center Jazz Club, UCLA EU Jazz Festival, Sounds NEW Contemporary Music Festival in Canterbury, UK. He was chosen as the Artist of the Year of the Pori Jazz 2011 Festival, and the 2014-15 Performer of the Year of the Finlandia Foundation.
