Nico Sarbanes is a jazz trumpeter, vocalist and composer, from Baltimore, Maryland, where he has been lucky enough to play with some of the city’s most talented jazz artists. Nicorecently completed his Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Trumpet Performance at the esteemed Schulich School of Music at McGill University in Montreal, where he received multiple awards for performance and composition. While steeped in the rich tradition of jazz, Nico possesses a distinct and passionate sound in both his playing and his writing. His versatility as a performer is further demonstrated by his impressive command of the vocal repertoire of the Great American Songbook, for which he has earned widespread praise. Among an ever-growing list of performance credits are two appearances at one of the world’s premiere music festivals, the Montreal International Jazz Festival, including one as the opening act for jazz vocalist and recent Grammy-award winner Dianne Reeves.
For this date, Nico will be joined by some of the area’s most talented young musicians:
