JASON YEAGER – 8PM & 10PM

The New York-based Jason Yeager Trio returns to Twins Jazz Club to celebrate their second release on Greg Osby’s Inner Circle Music label, “Affirmation!” Pianist/composer Jason Yeager’s music is deeply expressive and multi-faceted. Encompassing ten original compositions and unique arrangements of music by Lennon/McCartney and Olivier Messiaen, his new CD, “Affirmation,” reflects Yeager’s love of jazz and collaborative improvisation, combined with elements of 20thcentury classical music, the blues, Latin American grooves, and more. With his trio and as a sideman, he’s performed at some of the top venues in the Northeast and beyond, including the Kitano, Smalls Jazz Club, and Cornelia Street Café (NYC), the Regattabar and Jordan Hall (Boston), Twins Jazz Club (DC), Thelonious (Buenos Aires), and the Green Dolphin (Cape Town).  Yeager is a graduate of the Tufts University/New England Conservatory double degree program (summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, Pi Kappa Lambda), and has studied with renowned pianists Danilo Perez, Fred Hersch, Sophia Rosoff, Ran Blake, and Frank Carlberg.  A committed educator, Yeager is on faculty at the Berklee College of Music, where he teaches in the Piano Department.
