Soren Moller’s LINES OF PROGRESSION featuring

Loren Stillman/Jesper Loevdal/Greg Ritchie/Soren Moller

Leading Danish-American Quartet to perform at the Nordic Jazz 2013. Twins Jazz Club, June 27. Sets at 9 & 11PM. Reservation is advised.

As a collaboration across the Atlantic, Lines of Progression presents the best of two worlds: A Scandinavian sense of lyric melodies and impressionistic moods, blended with New York energy and pulse. This quartet draws on inspirations from the jazz tradition to modern day indie rock and classical minimalism. The music is served with an open mind and an engaging attitude.

Based in New York, Danish pianist and composer Soren Moller has managed to hand pick one of Denmark’s finest saxophone players in Jesper Loevdal, a leading force on the Danish jazz scene and some of New York’s most talented musicians in Greg Ritchie on the drums and Loren Stillman on the saxophone.

Hailed by American magazine All About Jazz as “as close to perfect as it gets” and “a must have release” by Jazz Chicago, Danish pianist and composer Soren Moller continues to explore the boundaries between jazz, classical minimalism and indie rock in a variety of ensembles from big band to chamber orchestras.

Since arriving in New York in 2002 to study towards his Masters Degree at Manhattan School of Music, Soren Moller has received rave reviews leading ensembles including ac- claimed musicians such as Jason Marsalis, Antonio Sanchez, Ambrose Akinmusire, Joel Frahm, Ari Hoenig and performed at established venues in New York including the Car- negie Hall.

Lines of Progression is looking forward to meet their audience at the Nordic Jazz Festival in Washington DC.
