New York City-based vocalist Kelly Ash has emerged as a new talent with a rich, soulful voice and authentic delivery. The Kelly Ash Band performs fresh arrangements of jazz standards and contemporary covers from songwriters such as Tom Waits, The Fleet Foxes, Sting, Joni Mitchell, the Beatles, and Nick Drake. Their music blends jazz, folk, soul and pop -- rich harmony, poignant lyrics, and folk/ rock grooves. Steeped in tradition but with unique modern creativity, Kelly's music presents a cohesive sound that explores and reflects her background.

Kelly has a Masters degree in jazz performance (voice/ piano) from New York University, and is a member of the NYU adjunct faculty and the New York Jazz Academy faculty. A Seattle transplant, Kelly has lived in NYC for two years and already performs actively as leader of her own quintet in New York City and around the U.S. In addition to her jazz pedigree, Kelly's varied background includes work with critically acclaimed Seattle bands Nearly Dan (performing the music of Steely Dan) and cult favorite rock opera Discs of Fury. // www.kellyashmusic.com
