The Jacob Garbus Quartet

Jacob Garbus is a Saxophonist from the VA metro area. He began his music interest as a gifted flute player. Adding Tenor Saxophone in High School, he has played in numerous venues all over the world. He has shared the stage with musicians such as John Kocur, Rob Holmes, Jeff Cummins, Jon Laine, The Pharcyde and Talib Kweli. As a member of VMA’s Annandale Jazz Ambassadors and the Chapel Square Combo, Jacob performed in cultural good will concerts co-sponsored by the US State Department in US cities from coast to coast, the Republic of Turkey, Japan, Spain and the Caribbean. As a participant in the Freedom High School Jazz Band, he won "Best Soloist" at a regional Jazz competition and twice received the prestigious peer-awarded Louis Armstrong Jazz Award for Outstanding Achievement in Jazz. His professional studies include the George Mason Jazz Workshop and the Berklee College of Music Performance Program. Currently he continues to pursue a Jazz Studies Degree in the Music Conservatory Program at Purchase College, New York.
