DANIELLE WERTZ, VOCALIST - More Info

Danielle is a 17-year old vocalist from Falls Church, Virginia. She currently attends McLean High School and is the vocalist for their jazz band. At the age of 13 Danielle developed a love for jazz and became the vocalist for the Annandale Jazz Ambassadors. Continuing with the program throughout high school has presented her with the opportunity to perform in various countries all over the world, including Turkey, Japan, and Russia. Danielle has performed in many established venues such as Jammin’ Java, Bangkok Blues, HR-57, The Carlyle Club, Blues Alley, Twins Jazz, and the St. Petersburg Jazz Philharmonic Hall. She was just named the winner of the Washington Women in Jazz Festival (WWJF) Young Artist Contest, and will have her own show in the festival next year. She is currently the vocalist for the Blues Alley Youth Orchestra, under the direction of Michael Bowie. Danielle has worked with many renowned musicians including Jon Laine, Lena Seikaly, Chris Grasso, Lisanne Lyons, Dan Paul, Champian Fulton, Dave Stryker, Claire Daly, Christina Crerar, Russ Johnson, and Claudio Roditi.  Danielle is a senior in high school and will be attending University of Miami's Frost School of Music this fall to pursue a double major in Music Therapy and Jazz Vocal Performance.
